	About the Project-

I was late jumping on The White Stripes bandwagon. But, when I heard &quot;Doorbell&quot; a few years back I became an instant fan. That raw, classic sound was so fresh to me. I went straight to iTunes and downloaded the whole album. It wasn&#039;t long before I owned everything they&#039;d ever released.

What really got me was that I wanted to sample almost every song. But, I couldn&#039;t just shamelessly sample their whole catalog. Plus, I had just decided to move away from sampling and focus on writing original music. So, a remix project seemed like the thing to do, and the idea was born.

I started digging through my collection and fitting all the pieces together. My goal was to use only samples from The White Stripes and a cappellas from classic songs and my favorite emcees. And of course, I had to rap on one of the tracks myself, with my man Brian Jacobs on the hook.

So there it is, hip-hop fans, meet The White Stripes.
Fans of The White Stripes, meet hip-hop.

— Adrian Champion

  <title>White Stripes to Play Conan&#039;s Last &quot;Late Night&quot;</title>
  <link>http://candycanechildren.com/News/article/sid=285.html</link>
  <description>White Stripes to Play Conan&#039;s Last &quot;Late Night&quot;

Conan O&#039;Brien and the White Stripes go back a long way. Like that time the tri-colored duo played &quot;Late Night&quot; for a whole week back in 2003. Or when the tall-haired host made a cameo in the trippy, Michel Gondry-directed &quot;Denial Twist&quot; video. Or when Jack and Meg played two songs in one show in 2007 to promote Icky Thump.

So with Conan leaving &quot;Late Night&quot; to replace comedy super-villain Jay Leno on &quot;The Tonight Show&quot;, it makes perfect sense for the White Stripes to blitz the show&#039;s farewell episode. It will be the White Stripes&#039; first live performance since summer 2007. As if you needed another reason to tune in February 20-- it&#039;s Conan&#039;s last episode, people! Conan is a genius.

Looking back at some of the old WS/Conan performances, a few things are clear: this band was on some seriously stratospheric level of cool back in 2003, this version of &quot;Let&#039;s Build a Home&quot; will blow your britches off, and they really need to put another record out soon. The world needs them.

No word yet on which song they&#039;ll play on the show-- I&#039;m lobbying for &quot;Ball and Biscuit&quot; because it is amazing and will allow for maximum Jack spazz-age.

In other Conan news, fellow genius Norm Macdonald showed up on &quot;Late Night&quot; yesterday and killed.
